Sealed (the "app") is published by the studio Ivryn (Victor Laybats). Contact: contact@victorlaybats.com. Sealed is built to keep your moments private. We collect the bare minimum needed to run the app. No ads. No data resale. No account required.
By design, Sealed is local-first. The following stay on your phone:
Sealed asks for camera permission for one reason: to capture moments in the app. There is no access to your photo library / camera roll: every moment is shot live. The camera is only active while you are on the capture screen.
During a reveal, Sealed can detect when a screenshot is taken so it can let your group know, since that is part of the game. This detection happens on your device. On Android this may require access to media so the app can notice a new screenshot; where the operating system does not allow reliable detection, the feature simply does nothing.
Opening a capsule together across several phones requires a server. When group sync is turned on for your capsule, the moments you add to that shared capsule are uploaded (encrypted in transit) so your group can see them at the reveal, and are removed after everyone has viewed them or the capsule expires. Capsules you keep to yourself are never uploaded. This section will be expanded with the exact processors (e.g. Firebase) once group sync ships.
You can access and delete your data at any time. Deleting a capsule removes its moments from your device; uninstalling the app removes all local data. For any request, or to exercise your rights under the GDPR (access, correction, deletion), email contact@victorlaybats.com.
Moments stay on your device until the capsule is viewed and then removed according to the capsule's rules, or until you delete them. We do not keep copies.
Sealed is intended for users aged 13 and over (16+ where local law requires).
We may update this policy as the app evolves (for example when group sync launches). The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
