Sealed (the "app") is published by the studio Ivryn (Victor Laybats). We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These are our published standards for preventing, detecting and responding to such content and behaviour, in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and applicable law.
The following are strictly forbidden on Sealed:
Sealed is intended for users aged 13 and over (16+ where local law requires). It is not directed to children and is not designed for use by children under 13.
Anyone, user or not, can report suspected CSAE or CSAM connected to Sealed at contact@victorlaybats.com. Please include the capsule code and what you saw. We review every report we receive. In a shared capsule, a member can also report a photo from the web album once the capsule has opened: the photo leaves the album for everyone straight away while we review it, and we remove violating photos. The member who reported a photo can take their own report back, and a member can report at most three photos per capsule. The content of a one-phone capsule stays on the user's phone, so we cannot inspect or remotely delete it. We do not scan photos automatically; we act on reports and on the limits described in section 5.
We comply with applicable child-safety laws. Where we identify or are made aware of apparent CSAM, we act to remove it, preserve relevant information as required, and report it to the appropriate authorities and child-safety organisations (such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, NCMEC, and/or local law enforcement). We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
Sealed works in two ways. A one-phone capsule stays on the user's device. A shared capsule is stored on our server so that its members can add photos from their own phones: members join with a six-character code, in the app or from a web browser through the invitation link, with a first name and without an account. A shared capsule holds at most 30 members and 500 photos. A guest on the web page can send at most 27 photos, which must be JPEG images and have their metadata removed by our server, and first names typed on that page are checked against a list of prohibited terms. The server never serves a photo before the capsule opens, only members of the capsule can see the album after it opens, and everything in a capsule is deleted 30 days after it opens. We can pause the web camera at any time. These standards also govern any sharing a user chooses outside Sealed.
